Who We are

Our Story
In 2014, two churches in Jefferson County, Alabama, (Eastminster Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church, both in Trussville, AL) merged to form one new church, Cahaba Springs Presbyterian Church. The new church name was derived from the headwaters of the Cahaba River located less than 2 miles from the church.
To commemorate the successful unification, members and artists, Laura and Arnold Reichert, created an 11-foot-long, 4-foot-wide mural made of plastic bottle caps of varied sizes and colors. Images seen in the mural are symbolic with water being the main theme as in reformed tradition water is a life-giving force and as the waters of Baptism. The seven fish represent the seven historical churches and their faithful saints from the east Birmingham area that over time formed CSPC. The white abstract flowers in the border represent the unique Cahaba Lily which is only seen in this part of the country. A picture of the mural is shown above.
